The Bonehammer Clan Empty
PostSubject: The Bonehammer Clan   The Bonehammer Clan EmptyMon Feb 27, 2017 9:29 pm

When the world was young and still forming, an earthquake separated a dwarf clan. The odd twist was it was the young and children that were separated, with no choice but to head the only way they could they ended up in a desolate corner of the world. The young dwarves were  the only humanoids on this land mass, that was further isolated by another earthquake (think of an Iceland the size of Greenland). So for like the next 2 thousand years they survived in a hostile environment, frost giants ice giants and various beasts. At some point an ancient Rd settled in one of the volcanic areas, it was his presence that led to adventures and later a human outpost. The dwarves quickly established relations with the humans and showed them some of the wonders of the area including some amazing hot springs. The Dwarves of this region are essentially Mountain Dwarves that are barbarians in culture and attitude. Almost all typical Dwarven lore is foreign to them. They tend to be slightly taller and broader than most dwarves by a little bit. Almost 90% have blond hair the rest have a copper or red hue. Their eyes are predominantly brown. There are essentially three clans with an over king. The clans are the Bonehammer, Rockguard, and Icepick Clans.

The clan is very similar in style to Picts or Vikings rough and ready to fight. They have had to constantly rely on rage to overpower enemies that were bigger or more numerous (giants and goblins in particular, they are sometimes known as Ice Dwarves, because of nature or where they live. They fight harder and party just as hard. They enjoy food, alcohol, and sexual distractions, having seen very few female forms outside of their rugged females.

They are ardent followers of Hanseath some of the very little lore that made it with them to the north was information about this god. Hanseath is the dwarven deity of war, carousing, and alcohol. He is a lesser deity of Chaotic Neutral alignment and his domains are Chaos, Strength, Travel, War. Hanseath represents the festive side of dwarven culture. Brewers hold him in high regard, as do dwarf barbarians and any dwarf who charges headlong into battle heedless of the odds. Hanseath is very fond of the three clans of these dwarves and can at times be more inclined hear their pleas.

The three clans do have a special brew they drink in the cold wastes and before battle, nearly pure alcohol clear and cold as water going down with a kick and warm blast like a fire in the belly. The smoothness of this alcohol is legendary it is so easy to drink that many have got violently sick or died. Only Brewer Clerics of Hanseath are said to be able to make it, sometimes calling it their Holy Water. The dwarves from there call it Icefire, and it is in high demand. It is only effectively brewed in the warm springs that are common where they live. It is an extremely popular drink to get females drunk or to get a quick easy buzz, and can be called by other names and mixed to create drinks with very sexual or perverted names like legspreader and virginkiller. It is illegal in a lot of "good areas". The dwarves of the three clans are so use it to it, that it effects them just like any other moderately strong alcohol.
